Ruth Armine (Risley) Wade, 84, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 19, 2016 with her son by her side. She was born on February 26, 1932 in Petersburg, Indiana to Clarence Lee and Beulah Risley. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Chuck, of 66 ½ years on June 5, 2016 and by her devoted brother David Lee Risley. Ruthie was much loved by everyone she knew, due to her generosity, her sometimes outrageous sense of humor, her gift as a cook and host, her gratitude, her love of children and her devotion to family and friends. She had a flair for design and glamour and enjoyed decorating. She kept her eye open for others in need of help and encouragement and was quick to reach out. She is survived by her son: Douglas Wade of Indianapolis Indiana; sister: Pam Risley of Los Alamos, New Mexico; maternal aunt: Mary Winkleman of Labadie, Missouri and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins. A family and friend’s reunion is being planned in Petersburg, Indiana for early summer to celebrate Ruth’s life. At that time both Ruth and Chuck’s ashes will be interred at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Petersburg. Ruth’s family would like the thank the staff of Life Care Center of Punta Gorda for their loving care of Ruth during her struggle with Alzheimer’s. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Florida Gulf Coast Chapter, 22107 Elmyra Blvd., Port Charlotte, Florida 33952 or to Tidwell Hospice, Inc. 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34238 in memory of Ruth A.
